Printing part of a pattern is useful when you would like
to print out lettering or small shapes that are part of a larger pattern
(i.e. bananna from a monkey pattern, rubber duck from a bathtime pattern, ect...). Choose
the letter/shape you like and cut and paste all of the letters out that you
need. You
can then print out just these letters instead of the whole alphabet. It
also is helpful when you would like to print out the pieces onto the appropriate
colors. For
example, yellow for the sun, white for the clouds.
Choose the piece of the pattern you would like to print. Select
the Graphics Select Tool. (If you are using adobe acrobat 4.0 hold
down the capital T with a dotted box next to it then select the box that
has a dotted line box with a square and a circle inside. If you are
using 5.0 it is on the tool bar separately.) Click on the screen
close to where the pattern piece is.
You will now place a box around the pattern pieces. Then
go up to the copy button on the tool bar. Click copy.
Then open up a word document and click on the paste button. (A
small clipboard with a document in front of it.)
It will then paste the pattern pieces you have selected.
You can now click on the pattern and use the boxes in the
corners to make it larger or smaller.
