Make a list of all the people you know who share your hobby. You can even think of a few that don't share your hobby that might think it would be fun to learn. You don't need to have a huge party. Your party may consist of your sister, sister-in-law and good friend down the street or be as big as you like.
Specify a good time to have the party. The first time you have a party, especially if you invite beginners; keep it to only a few hours.
Specify a specific time for your party. Do you want to have it a night so someone can watch your kids or do you want to do it during the day because you want to be with your husband or family at night? Whatever the time, make it work for the majority of those you are inviting.
Plan snacks that will not get in the way of your project. Have some snacks that are not to greasy or messy because these may damage your photos or pages. Have the food on a separate table in order to separate your projects from the food. You can either provide the snacks yourself, have a theme (i.e.: everyone brings something a specific color) or do pot luck.
If all goes well, you may want to have a party once a month or more often.
If you don't have the space or you would rather not scrapbook at your house, you could plan a party at a local scrapbook store, public library or church.
Remember to have a camera on hand in order to document the event!
It can be fun to scrapbook with others. You can get good ideas, learn of new products and have a lot of laughs.
Remember, you don't have to take your whole scrap room with you when you go! Yes, leave your kitchen sink at home!
With a little bit of prep time you can leave a lot of extra supplies at home. You could put together packets before you go. You can print off patterns or printables, gather stickers, pens, glue and colored cardstock that go with your pictures, and then put them in a folder or envelope. Plan on two or three layouts the first time and go from there. I go to parties for several reasons. Here are a few of them: to get ideas, have a good laugh, discover new products and learn new skills.
