When you are scrapbooking, do you pay attention to the colors in your photos? It can make a huge difference in your overall layout.
When I have pictures of an event, I look closely at the picture and try to pull a few dominant colors out of the pictures. For example, my son has a navy blue shirt on, and I have a yellow shirt on. I then will take these two colors and use them as my background or in my paper-pieced image. The great thing about using paper piecing is that it is easier to coordinate the colors in your pictures with the colors on your page. Since I started paper piecing, I have been able to use colors more to my advantage instead of trying to match the stickers or cut outs with my photo theme you want.
When I am tying to decide which color compliments my pictures best, I will layout my pictures on different pieces of paper to see which one compliments it best. I also use more than one color on a page so I will put two colors on a photo by making a mat this will help me to see which colors look best with each other and my photo.
You will find using these colors will make your picture feel more like they are a part of your layout.
